This notice explains what personal data Studio Yapa Ltd (“Studio Yapa”, “we”) collects through studioyapa.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We are a design studio based in London, and we are the controller of the data described here. Questions go to hello@studioyapa.com.

The short version

• We only collect what you choose to send us: a booking, or an email.
• We don’t sell your data, run ads or use advertising trackers.
• Our visitor statistics are cookieless and don’t identify you.

What we collect and why

When you book a call

Bookings are handled by Cal.com. When you book, you give us your name, email address and anything you add about your project. We use it to hold the call and follow up on your enquiry. The lawful basis is taking steps, at your request, towards a possible contract with us.

When you email us

If you email us, including through the “Refer a client” panel, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to manage the conversation. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.

When you browse the site

We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify individual visitors. Our host, Vercel, also processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website and understanding how it is used.

Cookies and storage

We don’t set any cookies of our own. The site stores two small items in your browser:

• your light or dark theme choice, so it’s kept between visits;
• a note that you’ve already seen the homepage intro, cleared when you close the tab.

Some pages include content from third parties that may set their own cookies:

• Vimeo plays the videos on our case studies. We load it with Vimeo’s “do not track” setting on.
• Cal.com runs the booking calendar on our contact page, and uses its own cookies and security checks to do so.

You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site still works, though videos or the booking calendar may not.

Who processes your data

We use a small number of providers to run the studio and this site:

• Vercel: website hosting and analytics
• Cal.com: call bookings
• Google Workspace: email
• Vimeo: video playback

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. They process it under their own terms and the safeguards required for international transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking details for as long as we need them to respond to you and, if we work together, for as long as our business and legal records require. If we don’t go on to work together, you can ask us to delete them at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@studioyapa.com and we’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
